Wow, so I just realized I've never blogged here. I'm such a bad little computer rennie... And I have no idea what the "publish to" section is for, and it won't let me delete the entry it has, so if this pops up annoyingly I apologize.
This week has been all about my costuming for the season. I'm pregnant with our first baby, so coming up with what I can wear through the season has been interesting. I didn't necessarily want to wear traditional "maternity" garb, but I think I've come up with variations on my typical clothing that will suit nicely - the biggest change being short bodices that will leave my belly exposed as opposed to cinched in an underbust corset (the best part about this change is that it'll expose the tattoo on my back that I got in March, which will be fun). It'll be weird going without my steel boning, but I'm pretty excited about it all.
I finished a new gypsy skirt yesterday, and have thankfully finished cutting out the rest of my projects for faire (2 gypsy tops, a new shift, an Italian gown, 4 bodices in three styles, and about 6 4-point aprons). The sewing is the fun part, so that's what I get to do now!
I also finished the two chidrens' costumes I make every year - I'll go ahead and post pictures when I'm done with this. Gah, I love those little girls - they're my cousin's daughters, and I have no much fun dressing them up! The three year old was especially excited about the coin trim on the sash I made her, and the 8-year-old danced in circles when I told her faire opens this month (in MD).
It certainly looks like it's going to be an interesting season. But back to my projects!
